Ayurveda
It is a natural healing system of India that evolved into a distinct medical science around 100 BCE.it has been enriched with contributions from sages like Charaka Susrutha and Vegbhatta.The object of Ayurveda is to counteract the imbalance of Tridoshas (Vata, Pitta, kalpha) the three vital elements that control the functioning of the human body.
Siddha
Siddha is a holistic system of medicine in south India founded by 18 siddhars. who were a spiritually enlightened person the system comprises codified procedures for medicine manufacturing disease diagnosis bu Mukuutram (Thridhosa theraphy) Nadi (Pulse reading)_and Attavitha paritchai(8 types of testing) it uses a special group of herbs called kayakalpa (Rejuvenation) herbs for treatment and preventive aspects.
Unani
Unani is a form of traditional medicine of Gracaeo-Arabic origin based on the teaching of greek physician Hippocrates and Roman Physician Galen and developed into an elaborate medical system by Arab and Persian Physicians
Unani medicine is based the concept of the four humours: Phlegm(Balgham), Blood (Dam) Yellow bile (Safra) and Black Bile(Sauda)
Manufacturing Infrastructure
The SKM factory has an installed production capacity of 1200 tonnes per annum. It has approval as per Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 for 700 products including Shastric and Proprietary Medicines. The factory has received the Good Manufacturing Practices Certification (GMP) in 2002 and is the first factory in TamilNadu to get this certification. It has also been certified with ISO 9001 : 2015 for successful implementation of Quality Management Systems. It has also got Pharmexcil registration for export.
The medicines are prepared in a clean environment by adopting highest degree of plant and personal hygiene to ensure safety and efficiency of the products. All GMP guidelines such as Standard Operating Procedures, Batch Manufacturing Records, In-Process Controls and In-House Standards are stringently followed to ensure the highest quality. The quality management plan starts from the selection of the vendors, creating SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) for testing of raw material, intermediate product and finished products, and the calibration of the instruments and manufacturing equipment. The Quality Control and Quality Assurance Lab work in perfect co-ordination with the Production Department at each and every step of the process to maintain international standards of manufacturing.
